The Best FL Studio Courses in 2026, Picked by What You Need

“For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.”

AristotleGreek philosopher, in the Nicomachean Ethics

The best FL Studio course for most beginners is the FL Studio Beginner Accelerator from Mix Elite (formerly FL Studio Tips): 52 short, self-paced lessons that take you from your first click to a mixed and mastered track, with a 14-Night Finish Plan of about 45 minutes a night, for $47 paid once. For live coaching and feedback on your songs too, Mix Elite Academy includes it, and the best free FL Studio course is Mix Elite’s 4.5-hour class on YouTube.

You open FL Studio for the first time and it looks like the cockpit of a plane. Where do you even start? YouTube gives you a 12-minute video on one knob, and three hours later you still haven’t made a sound you like. A good course fixes that with the right steps in the right order, and the best ones end with a song you finished.

Updated October 2026. Full disclosure: Mix Elite is our school, and until November 2023 it was called FL Studio Tips (FLTips). We checked every school’s prices and features on its own site on October 7 and 8, 2026, and sorted the picks by need.

What’s the best FL Studio course for complete beginners?

Mix Elite’s FL Studio Beginner Accelerator is the best FL Studio course for complete beginners: 52 short lessons take you from setup to a finished, mixed and mastered track, vocals included, for $47 paid once. It’s built for evenings, with a 14-Night Finish Plan of about 45 minutes a night.

If you’ve never made a song, the best online FL Studio course has three jobs: teach the steps in the right order, get you to a finished track, and have someone listen to it. Most picks below do the first job well. Only a few do all three. That’s how we ranked them.

1. Mix Elite: FL Studio Beginner Accelerator

Image: Mix Elite

Best for: Complete beginners who want one FL Studio course, paid once, that ends with a finished, mixed and mastered track.

Mix Elite is the new name of FL Studio Tips, the school many people still call FLTips. Same team, new name. The YouTube channel still has about 369,000 subscribers, and old fltips.com links now land on mixelite.com. Here’s what changed when FL Tips became Mix Elite.

The FL Studio Beginner Accelerator is its step-by-step FL Studio course. It runs 4.5+ hours across 52 short lessons in 7 modules, with 16 short quizzes along the way. You produce one complete track from the ground up, vocals included.

It starts with setup and the main windows: the Channel rack, Mixer, Piano roll and Playlist. Then you build the track with drums, piano and plucks, a bassline, transitions and a first arrangement. Mixing comes next, first with only FL Studio’s stock plugins and then with surgical EQ, layering, panning and stereo width. The last modules cover recording, tuning and processing vocals, and then mastering.

  • Price: $47, paid once, with lifetime access.
  • Format: about 4.5 hours of video you can watch on any device, or offline in the mobile app.
  • You need: FL Studio 20 or newer. The lessons use stock plugins plus a couple of free ones.
  • Downloads: the project files, samples, presets and MIDI used in the lessons, plus an e-book and infographics.
  • Bonus: the 14-Night Finish Plan, night by night, about 45 minutes each.
  • Guarantee: 60-day money-back guarantee.

2. Mix Elite Academy

Image: Mix Elite

Best for: Beginners who want the same FL Studio course plus live coaching and a pro’s feedback on every song they make.

Mix Elite Academy is our full school, with lifetime access. The FL Studio beginner course is included, along with 600+ trainings in all: music theory, arranging, mixing, mastering, and start-to-finish beats like Hard Trap and Drill, built in FL Studio.

What sets it apart from a video course is the help. On the live coaching calls, a pro fixes projects in real time, and feedback on your music is unlimited: you send a track, and a pro writes back with what to fix and homework for your next step. Every call is recorded. You never miss one.

  • Price: 3 payments of $137 (one today, then two monthly) for lifetime access. There’s no monthly subscription.
  • Live coaching: small group calls, 1 to 3 times a week, with every recording kept for life.
  • Also included: every sample, preset and MIDI pack in the store, a private community, and unlimited mastering of your songs by our team as a bonus.
  • Software: the Academy’s page says you can finish everything inside with $0 in software and the trial version of your DAW.
  • Guarantee: 60 days to try everything, with your money back if it’s not for you.

What’s the best FL Studio course if you only have evenings after work?

For evenings after work, the best FL Studio course is Mix Elite’s FL Studio Beginner Accelerator, because it comes with a night-by-night plan: the 14-Night Finish Plan, about 45 minutes a night, built so you actually finish a track. The 52 lessons are short and self-paced, and you can watch them offline in the mobile app.

Short lessons matter more than total hours. You watch one step, then do it in your own project the same night, so nothing piles up. If you want a pro to hear your track at the end, Mix Elite Academy adds unlimited feedback, and it records every coaching call, so a late night at work never means a missed session.

On a $0 budget, Mix Elite’s free 4.5-hour course works the same way: give it 45 minutes a night and it fits into about two weeks of evenings, homework included.

What’s the best free FL Studio course?

Mix Elite’s free 4.5-hour FL Studio course on YouTube is the best free FL Studio course: it goes from setup to chords, drums, arranging, mixing, vocals and mastering, in that order, and it has more than 1.5 million views. Free videos rarely tell you what to learn next. This one does.

You can learn a lot of FL Studio for free. What free videos can’t do is listen to your song. These free picks come closest to a real course.

3. Mix Elite’s free 4.5-hour FL Studio course on YouTube

Best for: Beginners who want a full, ordered FL Studio course before they spend anything.

Max, the founder of Mix Elite, teaches it himself. It runs four and a half hours, it’s split into daily parts, and each part ends with homework.

You build a trap loop with real chords and a melody, program trap and house drums, and arrange it all into a song of about two minutes. Prefer reading? Our step-by-step guide on how to produce music follows the same lessons.

4. Image-Line: FL Studio’s own free videos and manual

Image: Image-Line, from FL Studio’s Getting Started series

Best for: Anyone who wants the official tour of FL Studio, straight from the company that makes it.

Image-Line, the Belgian company behind FL Studio, keeps its free lessons on its FL Studio learning page. The Getting Started series has 28 videos on downloading, installing, setting up and using FL Studio. After that, the FL Studio Guru series explains features and plugins one by one in 136 videos.

The online manual explains every window and setting, and pressing F1 inside FL Studio jumps to the page for whatever you’re looking at. Just don’t read it front to back. Max’s advice: “From my experience, when people start to read through those manuals you can really get totally lost, so I personally don’t recommend this unless you’re looking for some specific feature.”

The FL Studio trial is free too. Image-Line says it has every feature and no time limit, but it won’t reopen projects you’ve saved. You can still export your songs to WAV or MP3. New to all of it? Start with what FL Studio is and how it works.

  • Price: free.
  • Feedback: none. You choose the order yourself.

Two more free options are further down: the free FL Studio 21 beginner’s course from Busy Works Beats and In The Mix for single topics.

Best for: Learners who want a real college class with deadlines and a grade.

  • Price: $1,575 in tuition for 3 credits.
  • You need: FL Studio 20 Signature Edition or higher, and an audio interface.
  • Next start: the fall class was full when we checked, and the next term starts January 11.
  • Feedback: graded assignments.

What’s the best FL Studio course for making beats?

FL Studio Channel Rack with 808 kick, clap, hi-hat and snare steps from Mix Elite's free trap beat lesson
Image: Mix Elite, from Mix Elite’s free FL Studio class on YouTube

For making beats in FL Studio, the best courses are the Hard Trap and Drill courses inside Mix Elite Academy: each builds a complete beat from an empty project to the final mix, and inside the Academy you can send your own beat to our team for feedback. Each is also sold on its own for $47 on our courses page.

For beats, you want a teacher who builds real drums and 808s on screen, then turns a loop into a full beat.

In Mix Elite’s free FL Studio class, the trap beat is built in the Channel Rack with simple rules: hi-hats on every second step, and a kick pattern that runs at least two bars. On tempo, Max is blunt: “Trap is usually around 140 and not 130.”

7. Skillshare: Riley Weller’s FL Studio beginners class

Image: Skillshare

Best for: Beat makers who want a short beginner class plus a big library for one yearly price.

On Skillshare, Riley Weller, an FL Studio trainer who also goes by GratuiTous, teaches FL Studio Beginners Course – Learn How to Make Beats in FL Studio. Its 21 lessons walk through the step sequencer, Playlist, Piano roll and Mixer, then spend 48 minutes building a beat from scratch.

  • Price: a yearly plan: $167.88 a year, which works out to $13.99 a month, and it opens thousands of other classes.
  • Format: 21 lessons, about 4 hours 17 minutes, made in FL Studio 20.
  • Feedback: from other members in the community, not a set review by the teacher.

8. Studio.com: Making Beats in FL Studio with KC Supreme

Studio.com image of KC Supreme at his studio desk with one hand on the mouse
Image: Studio.com

Best for: Hip-hop beat makers who want to watch a hit producer work from scratch.

On Studio.com, KC Supreme of Internet Money teaches Making Beats in FL Studio. Across 10 lessons and 5 hours 36 minutes, he makes 7 beats from start to finish, some from scratch and some from loops. Then he preps a beat pack to send to an artist.

  • Price: $219.99, paid once, with lifetime access.
  • Format: video only. You watch KC make each beat and explain his choices as he goes.

What’s the best FL Studio course for mixing?

Mix Elite’s Full Mixing from Start to Finish is the best FL Studio course for mixing: 44 lessons (6+ hours) in which you mix two complete songs with vocals, a trap track and an EDM house track, with FL Studio’s stock plugins, for $97 paid once.

Mixing is where first songs fall apart. The kick fights the 808, the vocal floats on top, and the whole thing sounds smaller than the songs you love. Max puts it plainly in Mix Elite’s free class: “Mixing is an in-depth process that takes years to master, but today I have a step-by-step framework that you can follow every time you want to make your track sound better.”

9. Mix Elite: Full Mixing from Start to Finish

Mix Elite's Full Mixing from Start to Finish course box in front of a glowing mixing console at night
Image: Mix Elite

Best for: FL Studio users with a few songs who want a step-by-step way to make every mix clear, loud and balanced.

It’s made in FL Studio, and the lessons follow along in any DAW. You mix both songs with us, from balancing the first faders to the final vocal chain.

It covers your room and speakers, balance and EQ, compression (including parallel compression on drums and sidechain), effects, automation and stereo width. Then come the vocals: rap vocals with doubles and ad-libs, and EDM vocals for drops and breakdowns.

  • Price: $97, paid once, with lifetime access. It’s also included in the Academy.
  • Downloads: 4 advanced project files, a mixing template FLP and mixer channel presets.
  • Certificate: an official Mix Elite mixing certificate after you pass the final test.
  • You need: FL Studio 20 or newer and its stock plugins. It also shows what the best paid plugins add.
  • Guarantee: 60-day money-back guarantee.

When the mix is done, our Full Mastering from Start to Finish course ($97) takes the same step-by-step approach to mastering, with stock plugins only. And in Mix Elite Academy, a pro listens to your mixes for as long as you make music.

  • You need: the Serum synth and FL Studio Producer Edition or higher.

Is a paid FL Studio course worth it, or is YouTube enough?

YouTube is enough to learn FL Studio’s buttons, and it’s where Reddit tells beginners to start. A paid course is worth it when random videos stop moving you forward: you pay for a set order, a finished song at the end and, in the best ones, a real person who listens to your music.

What does Reddit recommend for learning FL Studio?

We read the biggest r/FL_Studio threads that ask for the best FL Studio course, from 2020 to 2026, and counted what people named. The same advice keeps coming up. Here it is in our own words, with links so you can read the threads yourself:

What the threads agree on:

  • Start free. YouTube comes up in every thread, and In The Mix is the channel people name most, followed by Busy Works Beats.
  • Use the manual as a lookup tool. Press F1 on any window to read about it, instead of reading the manual front to back.
  • Make things. Beyond videos, the advice that comes up most is to make lots of short tracks and to remake songs you like.
  • If you pay, these names come up. FL Studio Tips (now Mix Elite), Udemy and GratuiTous are the paid courses people name most.

Reddit is right. The buttons are free to learn. What free videos can’t give you is a finish line and a pro who listens to your song. The FL Studio Beginner Accelerator gives you the finish line for $47, and Mix Elite Academy gives you both.

How do you choose a structured FL Studio course?

Steel balance scale weighing black studio headphones against a stack of silver coins on a butter-yellow backdrop

Start with what you need to learn, then pick one course that teaches it in order and finish it before you search for anything else. Before you pay, check four things: it ends in a finished song, someone hears your music, the lessons fit 45 minutes a night, and your FL Studio edition is enough.

Not sure what you need? Match the course to where you get stuck:

  • Lost in FL Studio’s windows: start with the basics, like Image-Line’s free Getting Started videos or the setup modules of the FL Studio Beginner Accelerator.
  • Stuck on chords and melodies: Day 2 of Mix Elite’s free class covers scales, chords, melodies and basslines, and Mix Elite Academy has a full music theory course on harmony and chord progressions.
  • Loops, but no finished songs: you need arranging. Day 3 of the free class turns a loop into a song of about two minutes, and the Beginner Accelerator ends with a full, mastered track.
  • Songs that sound muddy, flat or quiet: you need mixing. Start with Mix Elite’s free 1-hour mixing course on YouTube, then Full Mixing from Start to Finish.

Then run any course you’re looking at through these four checks:

  • It ends in a finished song. Lessons are easy to find. A good course makes you finish one track, start to end.
  • Someone hears your music. Notes from a real person stop you from repeating the same mistakes for months.
  • It fits 45 minutes a night. Short daily steps are easier to keep up than long lessons you have to find time for.
  • Your FL Studio edition is enough. Many classes need Producer Edition or higher. Check before you buy either one.

On check 4: the free trial has every feature but can’t reopen saved projects. That’s the only catch. If you buy, the free class recommends Producer Edition, because it covers everything most people need. Image-Line lists every edition on its pricing page.

Still unsure FL Studio is the right software for you? Read FL Studio vs Ableton first. And if you want to know what to expect week by week, here’s how long it takes to learn FL Studio.

How we checked: we read each course’s own page on October 7, 2026 (ours on October 8), for price, length, the FL Studio edition it needs and whether anyone reviews your music. Prices change. Treat ours as a guide. Nobody paid to be listed.

What’s the best FL Studio course if you only have evenings after work?

Is a paid FL Studio course worth it, or is YouTube enough?

YouTube is enough to learn the buttons, and Reddit’s FL Studio community mostly says to start there. Pay when random videos stop moving you forward: a good course gives you a set order, a finished song at the end and, in the best ones, a real person who hears your music. Start with Mix Elite’s free 4.5-hour course, then pay once you know what you’re missing.

Can you learn FL Studio for free?

What free videos rarely give you is feedback on your own song.

Is FL Studio Tips the same as Mix Elite?

Yes. FL Studio Tips, also called FLTips, changed its name to Mix Elite in November 2023 and moved from fltips.com to mixelite.com. It’s the same team and the same YouTube channel. The old FL Tips Full Bundle became Mix Elite Academy, and the FL Studio courses are on mixelite.com/courses.
